People come to us in a variety of ways; some are referred by carers or health and social professionals, others find out about us through family or friends in the community. Skills for Independence
Since 2022, our expert staff have been supporting people to improve their skills for independence. For some, this might be support to prepare for moving out of home. For others, this might be support to live more independently within the family home. Diverse activities include cookery, budgeting, housekeeping, communication and teamwork skills.
Staff recently supported Tom to renovate his room to better suit his needs and interests. You can read more about Tom's Renovations here.
Reach Care
Reach CareΒ is our domiciliary care support agency and a Community Interest Company. This branch of Reach provides outstanding one-to-one support for adults with learning disabilities in and around Nottinghamshire.
Tom and Lewis
Tom and Lewis moved into a shared bungalow owned by Reach Learning Disability in Newark in June 2021, where they are both supported by staff from Reach Care.
Tomβs mother, Louise explains:

Jenny
The highlight of Jennyβs year is the Reach holiday, and if you saw her dancing until 11pm on the most recent one, you would find it hard to believe how many health issues Jenny faces. Reach Care have been supporting Jenny at hospital visits, helping her parents to have more time to enjoy their retirement together.
