Covid-19 – update on current day services, 4th January 2021

Further to the Prime Minister’s statement on 4th January, we can confirm that Reach’s day centres will continue to open as planned. We have reviewed the government’s latest guidance relating to health and social care provision. Extra measures are in place to keep our clients, staff and volunteers well. All activities comply with latest government Covid-19 regulations and are monitored closely.

Our senior management team will keep the situation under constant review and our Centre Teams will be in touch with clients and/or carers in case of any change.

In addition to activities at our centres, our innovative and popular alternative service includes online socials and courses, telephone welfare calls, and delivery of activity and wellbeing packs. We are also supporting family carers through online, telephone and face-to-face communication.

Reach Southwell is very much part of the local community. Situated in the very centre of the town, we are able to offer clients lots of opportunities and activities. Coming along to Reach Southwell gives the chance to get involved in local life and to feel connected to their community in an easy-to-access location.

As this is also our headquarters, we are firmly plugged in to Southwell life and that means that we can support our clients to get involved in local events. Reach Southwell clients have participated in the Lantern Walk, archaeological digs and other community events in recent years, and there is lots more to come.

At Reach Southwell we offer:

  • regular courses including Media Fun, Fun and Fitness, Art and Singing
  • women’s groups on Mondays and Fridays
  • men’s cookery on Wednesday evenings
  • weekly massage and reflexology therapy
  • one-to-one life skills sessions led by trained and experienced volunteers

We can also offer supported volunteering opportunities for clients who are preparing for their next steps towards independence and active citizenship.
