Help us reach more people and to make a bigger difference.

Our clients and their families tell us that our work makes a genuine, meaningful difference to them. With more funds we could make more of an impact and enable even more people to achieve their goals. That’s where you can help.

People often assume that people with learning disabilities are ‘looked after’ by the state. It is true that some of our services are partly sustained by income from our clients’ personal budgets (payments allocated by the local authority). But this just covers a small proportion of our costs. Furthermore, many people assessed as having mild to moderate learning disabilities are deemed as ineligible for personal budgets. This group of people is arguably one of the most ‘at risk’ in society today.

We need to raise £300,000 a year just to maintain our current level of service. And as the county’s population continues to grow, our services will be even more in demand. Around 15,000 adults in Nottinghamshire have a learning disability and by 2030 this figure is expected to rise to 17,000 - right now we can only support approximately 250 people. But we could transform the lives of many more clients if we have the right funds.

Donations and grants give us the resources and time to work in partnership with our clients, their families and other organisations to find solutions to problems, and test out new ways of doing things. Recent best practice projects have addressed loneliness, and poor health. Current projects include the ROSE Project and our All Part of Life Project aiming to increase volunteering opportunities across the charity - for more information click here.

We run a matched funding Christmas Appeal every year. Please do get in touch if you would like to know more.
