Southwell Bridge Club Cheque Presentation

Many thanks to Southwell Bridge Club who have donated a fantastic sum of £2,450 to Reach!

The club have disbanded and the members kindly decided to donate the remaining funds to Reach.

John Round, Southwell Bridge Club Treasurer, presented the cheque to Reach clients on behalf of Chair, Kathy Hales, and the Southwell Bridge Club members.

John said: “The members of Southwell Bridge Club were greatly saddened to see the club become gradually less and less viable and eventually have had to close down after many successful years. Over several decades the club had, bit by bit, accumulated a fair sum of money and the remaining members were much heartened to be able to donate these funds to Reach – an excellent charity based here in Southwell. It is good to know that the money will make a real contribution to the ongoing support for our local people with learning disabilities. Our very best wishes go to Reach for their every success into the future.”

Fundraising Director, Julia Sandhu, said: “It makes a huge difference having a strong local community to support us in our endeavours to help people with learning disabilities in Southwell live happier, healthier lives. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to every member of Southwell Bridge Club.”
