Reach takes on Swim Serpentine Challenge

In Fundraising, News by Sarah Cobb

This September, four members of our team – Steve, Julia, Beverley and Anna – will take to the Serpentine in London for a 1 mile swim to raise money for Reach.  They are aiming to raise £2000 towards Reach’s ‘holiday pot’ to help subsidise those people who would not otherwise have such an opportunity.

Issues of affordability and accessibility can mean that many of the people we support never get a chance to have a holiday.  We offer two supported holidays each year which bring much joy to clients and offer some respite to their families.  Our holidays are a chance to have fun, to make new friends and to create many happy memories.

With more than 25 years involvement with Reach between them, all four team members are passionate about the need and benefit of our client holidays.  They are putting that passion into their training which they are doing in local swimming pools and in some of Nottinghamshire’s lakes – in all weathers!

If you would like to support Steve, Julia, Beverley and Anna, you can make a donation on their team Just Giving page: www.justgiving.com/campaigns/charity/reach-learningdisability/reach-serpentineswim

Best of luck to them all!
