What’s important to me?

In Chelsea's Blog by Sarah Cobb

Hey, it’s Chelsea I am going to tell you about what I do in a week and how important it is to me.

I attend day service at Reach 5 days a week and have done since I left college. Day service gives me the chance to meet with my friends, learn new things, gets me out the house and gives me lots of activities making my life more fun and every day I am with a different group of friends.

I go to a singing group on Monday afternoons. Singing makes me feel happy and it is good for my lungs. I love learning a song and performing it to people, it is good for my memory and confidence, and I can show everyone what I have been doing.

On a Tuesday I do Media Fun, we are currently doing a course called Get Wise which is all about video making, acting skills and writing scripts. This is good for me as I am using my literacy skills and I am learning some new skills.

On Wednesday I am starting a new course called Moving Forward which is about independent living skills and getting along with other people. I am really looking forward to starting it with my friends. Living independently can be overwhelming and stressful. But luckily this course will give me some knowledge to help me.

In my In, Out and About group I have fun with my friends. And learn new things in my local community.

When I go to Flower Pod on a Friday, I am currently doing a course called Gardening Through the Seasons which is learning about the flowers and the seasons.  I like doing this as I get lots of exercise and be outside in the fresh air.

As you can see, I live a varied life with lots of different activities to do and different people to see and that makes my life interesting and happy.
