Flower Pod Newark Clients

Reach would like to thank The ASDA Foundation for a Green Spaces Grant for Flower Pod Newark.

The funding has enabled Flower Pod Newark to purchase materials to develop the garden and make it more accessible, including seating areas, gravel, plants and lightweight gardening tools.

It has also provided clients with the opportunity to learn new skills by taking part in activities alongside volunteers from the local community.

Jordon, a Flower Pod Newark client who helped to assemble the seating, said: “I didn’t know how to use the electric screwdriver before Richard the volunteer helped me, but I can do it now and I think I’m getting better at it too.”

Flower Pod Newark’s Centre Manager, Christine Daniels, shared: “The Green Spaces grant has really made a difference to the enjoyment of our quiet garden. Our brilliant team of clients and volunteers have fitted together the beautiful new seats – there were smiles all round when the first of the three chairs was completed. We have also been able to buy some fabulous large honeysuckle plants that will climb up the trellis work and smell lovely while you sit under the wooden roof. Thank you to the ASDA Foundation from everyone at Flower Pod Newark.”
