Flower Pod Newark recently held a special event to say thank you to the many individuals, volunteers and organisations who have helped to develop the site since it opened in Summer 2020.
During the first year, staff and clients managed with just polytunnels for shelter and an old self-composting toilet.
In September 2021, Flower Pod Newark was gifted a three-part modular building from Premier Modular, whose team members also generously project managed the installation of the building on site.
Flower Pod Newark clients Charlotte, Jamie and Phil were in attendance at the celebration to help out. Phil signed people in on the gate and Charlotte helped Project Coordinator Louise take tours to show guests around the garden. Jamie and Charlotte cut the ribbon to officially declare the Flower Pod Newark modular building open!
Steve Shatwell, Reach Chief Executive, reflected: “Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to come together to create a much-needed sheltered space, we have this wonderful asset at Flower Pod Newark. We are really proud that this facility will keep giving to some of those most vulnerable in this community for decades to come. Thank you very much to everyone from Premier Modular for their generosity, time and efforts and thank you, too, to our staff, volunteers and clients who have helped make this all possible.”
Reach is also thankful to the following companies for their time, resources, materials and services in helping the building get up and running: BDS, Graham Jones Cranes, Modular Link, Modular Movements, P Coles Plumbing and Warner Electrical.
