Southwell has everything I need

Hello, my name is Chelsea, and I am 28 years old. I have a moderate learning disability and some physical disabilities. I am kind. I have a lot of self-determination, and I don’t say no to having a go at things! In fact, you might have seen me going around Southwell on my bike!
I live in Southwell currently in a rented house with Sarah and David. We have support from Reach care in the house to help us live more independently without our families looking after us.
Living with my friends is a brilliant thing to do and a good situation to be in. It is also a normal thing for young adults to do, we just need a bit of extra help. As adults we want to make our own decisions and not always be told what to do by our parents and so living like this helps us to do that.

Living with my friends is a brilliant thing to do.

The Reach accommodation project is important because it will give us better security and stability. We will not have to move again, because Reach will be our landlord. The house will be in Southwell, in the town we know and feel safe in. We will also be able to go to our day service easily.
I would like to stay in Southwell as my family are living here, I can visit them, but I can still live independently from them.
I like to go to the local shops and pubs where people treat me kindly and with respect.
Southwell has everything I need.
