Centre Round up December 2021

In News by Sarah Cobb

Flower Pod Southwell have been working hard in the garden: tidying, preparing paths and planting. We’ve also had time for making natural petal confetti and have been out and about – nipping over to Waitrose & Partners in Nottingham to pick up a cheque kindly donated to Flower Pod, as part of their Give a Little Love scheme.

Reach Mansfield have been busy crafting beautiful windchimes and preparing for our Christmas Concert. Enthusiastic singers and dancers took to the stage and entertained a full house with some festive cheer.

Flower Pod Newark took part in an art project with Southwell Minster and visited the Minster to see the work on display – it features The Minster stonework with our artwork growing from around the leaves. We have also been very busy weeding, digging and getting the site ready for winter. We are taking full advantage of our lovely new building to keep us dry and warm now that winter is here.

At Reach Newark the Drama group have been preparing for our performance of The Lion King. The scenery has been made and the dress rehearsal went well. We are very excited for the big performance. We also created beautiful silhouette collages to symbolise and honour Remembrance Day.

Reach Southwell took a trip out to Newark as part of our Inspire course Nottinghamshire Towns By Bus. We took a tour of Green’s Mill and had a go at making bread. We have also been getting creative in our video making course.
