Hi, it’s Chelsea here, I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine.
In this week’s blog I am going to be interviewing Sarah who is working with Beverley to prepare for living in the Reach Southwell accommodation. Sarah lives with her dad Peter but is hoping to be joining the Reach house next year. She has been coming to Reach day service for many years.
Beverley is the Transitions Coordinator supporting clients moving into supported or independent living environments, helping them develop independent living skills.

How do you feel about moving into the Reach house?
I’m excited about it! It will be a big change because I will be with my friends and not Dad. I am not nervous at all.
Why is it important to live in the house?
It is important because I need staff to help me to look after myself.
Is it important to you to live in Southwell?
Yes, I like Southwell. I have lived here for a long time, and I come to Reach in Southwell.
What work are you doing with Beverley?
I am learning about looking after myself. I have been learning about looking after my teeth, showering and about what is good and not good for my health.
I have been learning about the eat well guide choosing vegetables and food to keep me healthy. Sometimes we do some cooking. We have made some vegetarian sausage rolls and sweet potato jackets.
Why is working with Beverley important?
It is important because then I will be ready when I move.
