Hi, it’s me back again!

This week I thought I would tell you about a regular day in my life. All my days start & finish the same but the bit in the middle changes!
At the house we have Reach support staff who come in everyday and help us get ready. They support me to get washed and dressed. They encourage me to do this for myself as much as I can.
I am able to get my own breakfast, but I know the staff are always here to help me.
My days are spent going to Reach Southwell’s day service, where it is a short walk, so I can get some exercise too. Going to day centre is a lot of fun! I get see all my friends and do various activities. No two days are the same! I like my activities to be different and varied.
Sometimes staff stay with me or return to collect me to bring me home at the end of the day.
Once home my evening is probably not much different from yours!

At the house we are supported to live an independent life, so we take turns to do the household jobs – cooking, washing up, cleaning, laundry & shopping. But in amongst all this I also get time to have my own free time and space.
I really enjoy living with my friends but its not always easy. There are advantages and disadvantages of living together. We are learning to respect each other and our differences so we can all live happily together.
