My name is Laura and I have been a mentor for 5 years.

What do people learn about when you talk to them about the ROSE project?

They learn about Sexual Exploitation, the Ring of Safety and how to stay safe as well.

What does being a ROSE mentor mean to you Laura?

It makes me happy, and I am helping people.

Do you like being a mentor and what do you like the most?

Yes, I like being with my friends. And Kay and Bridget as they help me. I see new people and help them be safe. It’s important.

What do you like the most about being a mentor?

Being with my friends, Kay and Bridget as they all help me. Fun to talk to new people and like telling people to be safe. I was excited meeting everyone in the park after Covid, it made me happy.

Has being a mentor helped you?

Yes. Better confidence and I have fun with the ROSE mentors. I went to a big meeting (conference) with Anna, Phil and Bridget it was a bit scary but fun.

Is there anything you would like to change?

Not use computers (Zoom) to talk to people as I can’t always see who is talking or hear them. I like doing face to face again.
