Partner Story - Inspire Learning
Reach have been working with Nottinghamshire County Council’s adult community learning team since our early days as Southwell Care Project. We are proud to still be working with Inspire today.
Inspire are a community benefit society that receives funding to deliver community learning to Nottinghamshire residents. Some of this funding is sub-contracted to local organisations, such as Reach, to support adults to take part in learning new skills and hobbies.
Their support will enable us to deliver over 2000 client learning hours during 2019/20.
Walk into any Reach centre and you’ll find a hive of learning activity with people joining in diverse courses from gardening, cookery, singing, sewing, computers, communications skills and lots more. We also deliver outreach courses in residential and supported living settings around the county.
In 2019/20 over 400 people with learning disabilities participated in over 80 courses throughout the year.
Our courses are shaped by the needs of learners and delivered by qualified, experienced tutors. Tutors are supervised and mentored by senior staff to ensure that courses enable individuals to reach their own learning goals. Each centre has a forum where client reps feed back on people’s learning experience and suggest improvements for the future.
We really value our working relationship with Inspire. Over the years we have refined and improved our curriculum and enjoyed the opportunity to meet regularly with other Inspire providers to share best practice. We have worked closely with Inspire to understand and meet their expectations as a commissioner.
